About
Joe Devine: Instrumental Artist and Guitarist for Myles Smith.
Joe Devine is a London-based guitarist and composer, and the guitarist for Brit Award-winning artist Myles Smith. With Myles, he has performed at some of the world's biggest venues, including Wembley Stadium, The O2 and Madison Square Garden, and on television shows including The Today Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Voice US finale and The Graham Norton Show.
Joe and Myles first connected playing music in Luton pubs in 2013. Since 2023, Joe has played more than 200 shows with Myles across 20 countries on four continents, to an estimated audience of more than 2.5 million people. That includes Myles's own headline tours of the UK, Europe, North America and Australia, and main support on Ed Sheeran's stadium tours across Europe in 2025 and North America in 2026, with stops including SoFi Stadium, Levi's Stadium and Croke Park. Along the way he has opened for Imagine Dragons, Dave Matthews Band at the Royal Albert Hall, Noah Kahan and Tom Odell, and played festival stages including Glastonbury, Austin City Limits, TRNSMT, BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, Capital's Summertime Ball and iHeartRadio Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden.
His own music
Away from the stage, Joe writes melodic, instrumental guitar music that's warm, analogue and made by hand. It blends expressive electric guitar, inspired by players like Plini, Jakub Zytecki and Nick Johnston, with the influence of the traditional Irish music he grew up playing. His 2021 debut EP One Foot Forward is on Spotify and all streaming platforms. His new EP, written in hotel rooms, dressing rooms and a small studio in Brighton, arrives in early 2027. It's about what touring taught him: the biggest stages aren't the whole story, and connection, home and a sense of who you are matter just as much.
Irish music
Joe grew up playing traditional Irish music, mostly on Tenor Banjo as well as Acoustic Guitar, and it's still a big part of his life. He has several new Irish projects in the works, including a live album due in early 2027.
